WENN reports that James Iha, formerly of The Smashing Pumpkins, Taylor Hanson of… Hanson, Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos, and Fountains Of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger have formed a band called Tinted Windows that has already recorded a debut album. The band will make its debut at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin in March.

So did the Hanson brother change his style or is he becoming alt rock? I love the Smashing Pumpkins, and agree with the EverHype (www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc) review that called Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness “Fantastic” and gave it 4.5 stars, but I can’t hear them changing to pop. What kind of music is the ad-hoc band playing?
